Everlane is a brand that I have recently discovered who offer great, well-priced basics and have a wonderfully refreshing approach to the way they do things.
What they call 'radical transparency' refers to their ethical approach to retail fashion - partnering with the most ethical factories, sourcing the finest material and sharing the true cost of items with customers.
The factories they have chosen to partner with have all undergone strict compliance audits to ensure that workers have fair wages, reasonable hours and an acceptable environment. Every Black Friday, they donate their profits to improving the lives of these factory workers too.
I like Everlane because, like me, they aren't big on trends. They are aiming for timeless, quality items that can be worn for seasons to come. They are also very reasonably priced. With their promise of radical transparency, they share the true cost of each item in terms of the materials, labour and transportation. They are open about their markups, making them very affordable.
Although they are based in the US, they do offer international shipping.
I've put together three of my favourite items currently available from Everlane.
The Day Market Tote
I like the colour and structure of this Italian leather tote bag. It would work with a daytime or nighttime outfit.
The Pima Micro Rib Long-Sleeve Crew
A long sleeve grey shirt is an essential for your winter wardrobe. This Pima cotton, finely ribbed shirt is great for throwing on underneath other items to keep you warm.
The Silk Long-Sleeve Blouse
I like the feminine sleeves and crew neckline of this simple yet classic silk blouse. It's both classic and feminine.
